Your result: partly ready

The foundations are there. The gaps are specific.

You scored between 25 and 37 out of 50. Here is what that means, and where the gaps usually are.

Partly ready, which puts you ahead of most businesses your size

You are ahead of most businesses your size. Some of this has clearly been thought about, which means the remaining work is narrower and more targeted than a full rebuild.

What this means

The risk in this band is a particular one. Partial governance feels like governance. It is easy to assume the parts you have covered represent the whole picture, and Copilot does not care about the parts you covered. It surfaces whatever is left.

Where the gaps usually are at this level

  • Labelling that exists but is not applied consistently. Microsoft Purview only protects what it can see, so partial labelling produces partial protection.
  • Permissions that were right when they were set. They drift. Somebody joins a project, the project ends, nobody removes them.
  • Teams created faster than they are retired. AvePoint Elements handles ownership and lifecycle so that sprawl stops being somebody’s occasional weekend job.
  • A policy without a control behind it. A written AI policy tells staff what not to do. Web and AI tool filtering is what actually stops it.

Your suggested next step

The fastest way to find out which of these applies to you is to have somebody look. The AI Security Review with Adam Gillett is free, takes 30 minutes, and you will get his findings in writing.
